Our Story
The Scents That Shaped Us
My dad used to take us to the mango farms when we were kids. He’d talk about the soil, the rain, and how everything was connected. I wasn’t really listening. I was too busy climbing trees, picking jasmine from the backyard, eating mangoes in the shade, and playing in the dirt.
I didn’t get it then, but the smell stayed.
Rich earth after rain. Ripe mangoes. Jasmine at night.
Those scents became the feeling of home, of being young and not knowing how good it was.
I moved away, and slowly, I started to understand what he was trying to show me. The small things you don’t notice are usually the ones you miss the most.
When my grandmother started forgetting things, I saw it up close. Memory fades, but scent doesn’t, not really. She still remembers the smell of mangoes. She still remembers all of us together under the trees. One smell, and she’s back there.
That’s where amra started, not with a business plan, but with a question.
Can a scent make someone feel like they’re home again?
This is our first answer. The rest is still being built, more scents, more ingredients we grew up with, more things that shouldn’t be forgotten.
Mango is just the beginning.
